A Little Love Note...

From me, to you, this holiday season…

The holidays are a joyous and loving time for some. For others, the holidays elicit anxiety and stress. There are some whose experience is somewhere in between, some whose experience is something else entirely, and even some who experience a combination of it all.

We, as humans, have a tendency to project our experience onto others. We currently live in a world that is host to many lines of separation. Separation is the cause of much pain. I believe that when we project our experience onto others (assuming someone else must feel/think/act in the same way we do) we immediately provoke separation, and in turn, pain to arise in the culture.

This holiday season, I would urge you to remain aware that not everyone you meet has the same feelings towards the holidays. Not everyone you meet will even honor the same tradition. Catalyze your interactions with others from that place of awareness. Together, let's create a ripple of understanding throughout our culture, and cease these lines of separation, one exchange at a time.
